In 1986 I attended the School of Creative Musicianship in Auckland, NZ. It was the first time I’d had formal training in music & I did a wide range of courses including songwriting.
‘Falling into History’ was written that year. I was working as a PE teacher during the day & attending the music school at least 2 nights per week. I had no time for romantic relationships that year…though ironically I met my future wife Louisa early in ’87, with my musical ability being one of the strongest drawcards for her.
