about

Time to Move On (2022) This song is about putting my many major setbacks behind me (including the death of my wife Louisa and death of my partner Tracey, both through Cancer)…& moving forward into the possibility of a new, genuinely romantic relationship. The evolution of a suitable heart & mindset has been enormously painful…yet still overwhelmingly worthwhile. The old adage “If at first you don’t succeed…try, try & try again” is at the heart of this process.

Time to Move On -words & music: Kieran Hegarty 2/4/22

Part A1
I’m a man who’s been walking in shadows
Shrouded in a ghostly light
Wandering…pondering the reasons
Why…the future was out of sight

Part B1
My truelove…passed into the heavens
I’ve been crawling underground…
Moving to the rhythm of my heartstrings
Playing a dirge…that tied me down

Chorus
Then came the time…to move on…
Put it behind me
Time…to lay down my load
A load that drained…a load that wore me out
It was time to get back on the road.

Part A2
I have gol-den memories aplenty
They will al-ways be there
But I need…space to create new ones
…Weaved as a magic pair

Part B2
My deep love…is always within me
It’s not a ‘thing’…that I can lose
Opening my heart to new beginnings
…A challenge that I choose

Chorus
Now it’s time…to move on
Head where I want…to…be
Time to find a new road
A road that excites…a road that inspires me
On a journey that I have composed.
